Celebrate Recovery at First Free Church

Announcement

It is with a heavy heart we announce that Celebrate Recovery at First Free will be on a "sabbatical"/extended break.

First Free's pastors are committed to having CR at First Free and will be working to start the program again when feasible. If you are interested in helping lead CR moving forward please reach out to Nick Parker, Groups Pastor: nparker@efree.org

Friday, 8/27, will be our last meeting until that time.

Lesson 25: Seven Reasons We get Stuck

We encourage everyone to find another CR group in the St Louis area in order to continue your recovery and to grow in your relationship to Jesus Christ- the one true Higher Power.

Note: There is no mask mandate at First Free Church. The church recognizes the CDC still recommends unvaccinated persons social distance and wear masks. However, First Free believes the responsibility to protect oneself against the Covid-19 virus has shifted to the ability of each person to protect themselves. That is, if you have concerns about being exposed to the virus, it is your responsibility to social distance, wear a mask, and/or be vaccinated. Everyone in CR is encouraged to make loving, God honoring choices that seek the good of others and seeks to bring unity within the Celebrate Recovery "forever family".

Celebrate Recovery leads us through the 12 Steps and the 8 Recovery Principles that guide us along the biblical path of opening ourselves up to and trusting in God’s grace, through Jesus Christ, for bringing change and healing in our lives, so that we can know a substantial measure of peace & joy and as it says in the Serenity Prayer to be “reasonably happy” in this life.

You don’t have to be dealing with an alcohol or drug addiction to need recovery

(In fact only 1/3 of those who attend CR struggle with substance abuse)

Recovery is about life’s daily hurts, habits and hang-ups which may be alcohol and drugs, but it may be any number of other issues.

So if you struggle with “hurts, habits, and hang-ups” but are “ready and willing” to turn to and trust God to do for you what you can not do for yourself, then Celebrate Recovery just might be a good place for you.

Weekly Schedule:

6pm – dinner (we will resume when virus restrictions are lifted))

7pm – large group

8pm – small open share groups (issue & gender specific)

9pm – dessert, coffee & fellowship (will resume when restrictions lifted)

***No Childcare Available***
